picture of the day (:
I was watching Park Ji-Sung on Talk Asia and it reminded me of Tarik a lot. Park Ji-Sung now plays for Manchester United. What caught my eyes was his determination and discipline in getting his target. The obstacles he faces in PSV Eindhoven make him stronger. In the interview he never complains nor critics how the tough phase he went through comparing the comforts he had in Kyoto Purple Sanga. The idea of extra work, focus and opportunity were awesome. Park Ji-Sung the only child whom wanted to play basketball back then, was ditched by the coach because of the young age, instead he joined football. His father fed him frog soup to make him stronger. And here he is at the age of 28, having world cup and part of the best club under his shoulder is a big success story.
This week Latino in America was on the Garcia. I'm amazed by Lorena Garcia. She was one of a kind. The determination to set up her own show was indescribable. She went through all the hurdles, just to get what she thinks she deserves. Even though much critic on her language, she still stayed as herself, the latino. Her marketing style was to show off her own identity. Hence, with much faith, she get what she wants. Her parents are a lil sad for the transformation of a legal fantasy to a chef, but never less they are proud of her success now.
Call me boring, I am obsessed with CNN.Watching my fav yacht, the amazing backstory and all the cool top stories keeps me happy. And most importantly, I'm able to converse with my parents confidently. My dad once said, its better to have the knowledge and speaks than saying things randomly and not knowing the actual facts, which makes you look stupid. One identity doesn't depend on his or her outlook... Meaning what they wear, who they are surrounded with and to which background they belong to.
For example, someone might wear a LV handbag for the sake of showing off. Beside wearing, do they know Marc Jacobs is the Artistic Director? Do they know it's a French fashion house which started in 1854? I remember in LUCT doing my fashion survey, most of the the designer label user used product just because its famous among their peers. And wearing one makes you part of the group. Its such a pity that people spend money for something they don't know of.
