Going Dutch!
Say what?
You pay yours and I pay mine.
Hey ladies and gents!
Yes me again. Technically, me again mumbling on young couple related stuff. Ever happen to you, you are out and you don't know how to handle the bill? Especially happen on a first date. Or irregular outings. Worry not.
1) You can always opt to go dutch, that if you don't mind and your partner doesn't feel awkward. Going dutch so far is the best solution to young couple. I mean, if you aren't a shy cat like me lah. That I sometime like to eat without worrying whatever others thinks of my eating habits. Plus, I don't have to feel guilty for my orders.
2) Or you can just pretend to not know. Which I occasionally do. Whats wrong in letting guys feels like they are the man. Mostly, for them to feel in control.
However, it is not wrong ladies to sometime treat your man. Perhaps on their birthday, or on the recent promotion / good grades. I summarize, man has the heart like a women too, fragile.
Note:
W : In Netherlands, it was not unusual to pay separately when going out as a group. When dating in a 1 on 1 situation however, the man will most commonly pay for the meals and drinks. The traditional way to handle a bill on a date in the US has been that the one who invited the other takes the bill and the invitee may not even know the actual price of the meal. An alternative view is that traditionally payment has always been made by the male. Full payment by the male is still most common in the UK.
